Dr. Laurie Campbell-Bonang
General Dentist
Dr. Laurie Campbell-Bonang began practicing in Cole Harbour in January, 1989. She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick and attended UNBSJ and UNB for her Bachelor of Science degree. She graduated from Dalhousie University with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1987 and after practicing for a year and a half in Ottawa, Ontario she returned to the Maritimes to set up practice in Cole Harbour.
Dr. Laurie Campbell-Bonang practices with her husband, Dr. Jeff Bonang, and together they provide all aspects of general dentistry with Dr. Laurie's special interest in cosmetic dentistry. Jeff & Laurie have three children Kelsey, Jordan & Emily and two black labs Riley & Lexi. Dr. Laurie's personal interests include golfing, cycling, running, travelling, and music.
Dr. Laurie continues to enjoy the practice of dentistry at Cole Harbour Dental Centre and values the friendships she has made over the years with great team members and her wonderful patient family.
Dr. Jeffrey Bonang
Dr. Jeff Bonang has been enjoying the practice of general dentistry with his wife, Dr. Laurie Campbell Bonang, at CHDC since its inception in 1988. He completed both his BSc and DDS at Dalhousie University. After graduation, he moved to Ottawa and practiced dentistry for 2 years. Dr. Bonang provides all aspects of general dentistry procedures and has a particular interest in orthodontics, endodontics and restoring missing teeth with dental implants. Jeff is past president of the Halifax County Dental Society and the Nova Scotia Dental Association. Jeff also sits on the Board of Craig’s Cause Pancreatic Cancer Society. Jeff and Laurie have three children, two of whom are now working at CHDC, Dr. Emily Bonang and Dr. Jordan Bonang. The third, Dr. Kelsey Bonang, practices optometry at InSight Optical in Halifax. They are now proud grandparents of 3 beautiful grandchildren. When Dr. Bonang is not practicing dentistry, he can be found golfing with Laurie, cycling, playing the keyboard, or spending time with his children, grandchildren and his black lab, Lexi.
Dr. Emily Bonang
Dr. Emily Bonang joined Cole Harbour Dental Centre in 2020 after graduating from Dalhousie University with her DDS. Under the mentorship of her parents Dr. Jeff Bonang and Dr. Laurie Campbell-Bonang, Emily has been expanding her practice to include a variety of dental treatments with particular interest in extractions, orthodontics, endodontics and nitrous oxide sedation. Her focus in dentistry is to provide excellent services while making patients feel as comfortable as possible. Dr. Emily Bonang grew up with her family in Porter’s Lake, and decided to stay close to home attending Dalhousie University for both her Honours in Biology and Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She graduated during the thick of the pandemic in May of 2020, and was awarded the Dr. David Precious Gold Medal in Dentistry. Dr. Emily and Dr. Jordan Bonang were fortunate to be accepted into the same dental school class and became even closer over those four years together, how could they not with cubicles right next to one another! Dr. Emily Bonang now resides in West Chezzetcook with her husband Tyler, their beautiful daughter Nori and rescue dog Onyx. Outside of working, Emily and her husband enjoy construction projects around their property as well as building rental properties on the North Shore and Eastern Shore.
Dr. Jordan Bonang
Dr. Jordan has been practicing general dentistry at Cole Harbour Dental Centre since July 2021. Jordan completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Acadia University, then continued to Dalhousie University to complete his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He graduated from Dalhousie in 2020 and completed a one-year General Practice Residency in 2021. Jordan was a part-time supervising dentist at the Gottingen Street North End Dental Clinic and is an on-call dentist for the Halifax Mooseheads. Jordan has a passion for helping others and enjoys assisting his patients to help achieve their optimal dental health. He takes pride in his ability to cater to patients with dental anxiety and nervousness. He is licensed to provide oral and nitrous sedation. Outside of dentistry, Jordan enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Christie, their two cats – Izzy and Reese, and two dogs – Stevie and Dora. Jordan spends his free time golfing, gaming, or doing anything that gets him outside.
Valerie Clark
Office Manager
Valerie completed her dental assisting course at NSCC and her BBA undergraduate at St. Francis Xavier. She joined our team at CHDC as an office manager in 2007. Valerie takes pride in her ability to combine her knowledge of dental assisting into the business aspects of the practice to provide excellent customer service to all patients and staff. In her time away from the office, Valerie enjoys hiking, gardening and strolls with her dog, Beans. Valerie also enjoys a sociable with family and friends from Cape Breton.
Katelyn
Hygienist
Katelyn completed her undergraduate (BSc) at Saint Mary’s University, and her DDH at Dalhousie University before joining our team at CHDC in 2020. What Katelyn enjoys most about her profession is meeting new people and working with them to help achieve their best oral health. In her time outside the office, Katelyn enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading and going for walks or hitting the gym.
Sarah
Sarah completed her undergraduate at MSVU, attended Dalhousie for hygiene and joined our team at CHDC in 2021. Sarah enjoys her profession because of her passion to work with people. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys skiing and coaching skiing. When she is not at the office, she can be found at her cottage or on the lake boating and wave surfing. She loves to spend time with her dog Tilly !
Flora
Flora completed her undergraduate (BSc) at Saint Mary’s University and her DDH at Dalhousie University before joining our team at CHDC in 2021. Flora enjoys her profession and helping patients to achieve their optimal oral health. In her free time, Flora enjoys taking her dog Luna on hikes, spending time with family and friends and paddle boarding in the summer.
Becky
Dental Assistant
Becky completed her dental assisting course at Holland College and decided to joined our team at CHDC in 2007. She works chair side with Dr. Jeffrey Bonang. Becky loves the diversity that comes with dentistry, no day is ever the same! In her time away from the office, Becky enjoys drawing, reading and spending time with her family. Becky also enjoys spending time with her 13 year old cat, Miss Pepper Potts, and her parent’s 3 year old Terrier mix dog, Loki.
Mary
Mary completed her dental assisting course at NSCC and then joined our team at CHDC in 2008. She works chair side with Dr. Jeffrey Bonang. Mary enjoys meeting patients and assisting with the variety of procedures that are offered at CHDC. In her free time, Mary enjoys doing various crafts and baking for family and friends. Mary is well known for her glazed nut candy at Christmas!
Renée
Renée completed her schooling in Saskatchewan and Alberta and has been a dental assistant at CHDC since February 2020. She works chair side with Dr. Emily Bonang. She enjoys helping educate patients to help them achieve their best dental health. She strives to make every patient’s experience as comfortable as possible. Outside of work, Renée loves spending time with friends family and her puppies Baxter and Molly. She loves cooking, doing puzzles and travelling to new places.
Liz
Liz completed her dental assisting program at NSCC and joined our team at CHDC in 2022. She works chair side with Dr. Jordan Bonang. Liz enjoys her career and she loves helping people feel more confident in their smiles. Outside of work, Liz enjoys spending time with her friends and family and experiencing adventures. Liz is a cheerleading coach for the Auburn Drive High School Eagles right here in Cole Harbour.
Angie
Office Administrator
Angie completed her undergraduate at MSVU and joined our administrative team at CHDC in 2020. Angie enjoys working with people and joking around with her co-workers. She takes pride in her organizational skills and her ability to be a team player. Outside of work, Angie enjoys travelling, hiking and spending time with family and friends.
Emily
Emily joined our administrative team at CHDC in 2021. Emily grew up in Cole Harbour and attended Auburn Drive High School. Emily has been working in office administration for 12 years. In her free time, Emily enjoys crafting and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys watching reality TV and listening to music.
